Alexanderliech Kosnichev
Alexander Evgenievich Kosnichev (b. 1970) is a significant contemporary painter from the Moscow School of Realism and the heir to a notable artistic legacy. As the son of the Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Evgeny Kosnichev, he was raised in an environment of high art and creative discipline. He furthered this lineage with an elite education, graduating from the prestigious Moscow Secondary Art School in 1988 and the Surikov Art Institute in 1994, where he studied in the workshop of the revered Professor V.N. Zabelin. Since 1995, he has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists.
Kosnichev is a master of multiple genres, and his work is known for its lyrical and philosophical depth. This is beautifully demonstrated in his landscape painting "Quiet Evening," where he masterfully captures the subtle, transitional light of dusk with a sophisticated and restrained tonal palette, evoking a sense of peace and introspection. In a different genre, his "Still Life With Rowan" showcases his skill in composition and his nuanced feel for color. He elevates simple, natural objects into a harmonious and elegant arrangement, demonstrating that his thoughtful approach extends to every subject he paints. His style is a contemporary extension of the great Russian Realist tradition.
A regular participant in exhibitions since 1988, Kosnichev's work has been shown extensively in Russia and has also gained significant international recognition. He has participated in exhibitions in London, and his paintings are held in private collections in the USA, Germany, China, and England. For the collector, acquiring a painting by Alexander Kosnichev is to own a work by a leading contemporary master of the Moscow School. It represents a direct connection to an important artistic dynasty, backed by impeccable Surikov training and a distinct, intelligent artistic voice.
