Tsvetlana Smirnova

Tsvetlana Smirnova (b. 1969) is a prominent contemporary artist of the Moscow school whose artistic education is a testament to her dedication and a connection to an incredible lineage of masters. After initial studies, she was accepted into the prestigious Surikov Art Institute in 1995, where she studied for her first two years under Alexander Fomkin. She then spent the remainder of her time in the studio of the legendary Professor V.N. Zabelin, while also having the fortune to learn from visiting masters Sergei Gerasimov and Viktor Tsyplakov, before graduating in 2001.

Smirnova is a versatile artist who excels in still life and landscape painting, but also holds a deep interest in historical genre, having dedicated her diploma work to the famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.
