Elena V. Kamyenyetskaya
Elena Vladimirovna Kamenetskaya (b. 1918) was a versatile and sophisticated painter of the Moscow School whose work spanned multiple styles and genres. Born in the Moscow region, she received an excellent art education, first graduating from the Moscow art school "Memory 1905" before studying at the nation's premier academy, the Moscow State Art Institute V. I. Surikov. This training grounded her in the great academic traditions while allowing her to develop a unique artistic voice.
Kamenetskaya was a remarkably versatile artist, working comfortably in styles ranging from Realism and Impressionism to Art Nouveau. Her oeuvre includes landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and unique wartime and Orientalist themes. A prime example of her landscape work can be seen in the painting from the Lazare Gallery collection, "At the Lake".
